Community Outreach: Bridging the Gap in Urological Care
The Rwanda Urological Association (RUA) has been conducting community-based urology outreaches to address the severe shortage of urologists in Rwanda—currently only 14 attendings and 20 residents, the majority based in Kigali, the capital.
Our Outreach Impact
These missions deliver specialized care directly to patients in regional hospitals, reducing travel distance and time, lowering the financial and logistical burden of seeking care, and minimizing the need for repeated follow-ups at tertiary centers.

Data-driven health system strengthening
By uniting hands-on care, education, and data-driven insights, RUA aims to strengthen Rwanda's urologic health system and create a scalable model for other low- and middle-income countries.
